It's been a while.. but it's so good to be in touch once again! Just wanted to hop on and talk to you about the incredible expereince I had performing at The Bedford, London (https://thebedford.com) on Wednesday 20th February. Firstly, what a BEAUTIFUL venue, of of the most stunning venues I have ever performed in to date. To share the stage with people who have stepped on it before me, such as Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and James Bay was something to behold. As Maya Angelou said, "I come as one, but I stand as ten thousand". Huge love to all involved in putting this event on, to all the amazing talent who performed and everyone special to me there.
I recently was searching for something I felt I was missing and it was showing in my performance, writing and overall outlook on music and the industry I am striving to become a key part of. I realised this feeling is so human and not everything can be planned out all the time, there are hurdles you have to conquer! Therefore, I took it back to basics (see where I got the title from 😉) and stripped everything back to me and my keys; where I am most at home. I decided to strip it all back and show a more vulnerable side to me as an artist- with my vocals, my song choices and my connection to the audience.
Jumping "back on the horse" was a scary thought and for the first time in a long time, I felt super nervous to get on stage and bare my soul in this way when I felt so vulnerable when I usually feel my strongest on stage. However, this was such a beautiful and necessary step I was needing to take and couldn't have thought of a better way to share some new music with the audience that night. I have never felt more connected to each and every word I sung and the message I was piutting across.
Thank you to everyone in that audience, you were all 100% PRESENT and listening to every line, every chord and feeling every emotion with me. It was honestly an incredible experience for me to feel on stage. I am BACK to my mission and ever-more driven.
